Best of the best I’ve been carrying this since the release, it’s my EDC. I really have no complaints at all. I have a pretty large collection of Leathermans, but I carry this one because it has a scribe and tweezers. It’s much smoother than the other Leathermans as well. I’m hoping for another garage series that might top this one, but I doubt it will happen.
Читати повністю Overall great quality, and the Overall great quality, and the blue G10 accents the DLC coating nicely. The DLC coating has remained intact and provides a distinct look. Only downside is there is no pocket clip but removed the pen and utilized the Wave/Charge pocket clip plus lanyard ring in the pen spot.

Читати повністю I have lots of Leatherman I have lots of Leatherman tools. The Charge being my favorite format. The Darklives up to the task. My only draw would be that I like to pocket carry and prrefthe pocket clip who is lost in this variation. The case isn’t made to fit the Darkside very well and causes some abrasion to the handles which shouldn’t happen. Over, a positive review. This is the Garage for a reason. Podia do negative feed to make a better product. Leatherman forever!!

Читати повністю Sleek addition to growing collection! In the last few months I’ve started including multitools into my EDC rotation and this one really takes the cake! G10 grips make it comfortable and still give it traction when needed. The black and blue go very well together to give it a stealth look. The tools designed into this setup gives me everything I need throughout my day. Would recommend to anyone looking for something practical and aesthetically appealing.

It is almost to beautiful to everyday carry as I wouldn't want to ruin this beautiful work of art. This is definitely one of my favorite Leatherman tools I have in my collection.

Tool works great I am hesitant to use it as an EDC because someone will still it and I don’t want it to stay perfect the only thing negative thing I can say is that my G10 scales were scuffed upon opening the box I have never had that happen

Читати повністю Great knife, small problems Beautiful knife, I am glad I decided to buy it, all of the tools included work well. The sheath seems a little small for the knife, but the leather will slowly form around it. My only “issue” I had with the knife was that my g10 was not made perfectly, there is a white patch on the g10. Overall a nice addition to the Charge family.

Читати повністю The Darkside Amazing Tool. Best feature is the DLC coating making every tool operate extremely smooth. Second best feature is the adjustable pivot screw in the plier jaws so that you can fine tune the action to just the way you like it.

Читати повністю Beautiful tool One of the prettiest tools that Leatherman has ever made. The new DLC (black) coating is MUCH better than Leatherman's normal black oxide finish and the blue accent makes the whole tool pop.
The new tools are neat, but I really miss the pocket clip.

Читати повністю Everything is great. . . the only part Everything is great. . . the only part i saw was the center nut for the pliers seems cheap. . . you did this with the special topo design 3 or so prior to this release i bought and it had presses plate assembly and craftsman tryed that just a big turnoff to me for the future i like solid designs through and through. . . but the darkside is very cool over-all. . .
Читати повністю Bravo I own a multitude of leatherman products along with another charge variant (tti). I think the addition of the scale tools are a must going forward on many of the full size tools. The finish on the tools is very nice (pictures do it no justice) I appreciate the packaging detail from a collector perspective and the new finish/ tools / adjustable pliers from a hopeful perspective for production models moving forward. Now make a surge upgrade so I can spend money on that.

Читати повністю Good But Not Great Top notch quality as always. However in the spirit of the garage I have some constructive feedback. If you're going to use G10, please take advantage of the grip that comes with texture. My scales were not consistently textured, two are super slick. Also I really like the use of premium steel. However I would like to see a modified frame that held a slightly wider stronger blade and other external tools. I would be fine if this compromised the number of internal tools.

Читати повністю Sheath is excellent quality. The Sheath is excellent quality. The scales on the tool are grippy and much more comfortable than the usual metal handles. Addition of the scribe is a nice touch. I would like the option of replacing the pen with a pocket clip as I already carry a pen with me. All of the tools on the Darkside are of excellent quality and the DLC coating looks amazing. Overall a very nice upgrade to the Charge platform.

Читати повністю Not exactly sure why it's in the Garage It is a beautiful tool. But, the scales on my knife don't look like the pictures I'd seen before I bought it. The knife was shown with a smooth matte finish with a thicker, more pronounced blue accent layer. The knife I received has thinner, textured scales. And the rivets on the inside of the sheath leave marks on the scales.
It is very well-crafted. However, I don't feel it is a good candidate for a Garage release. It seems as if the Charge just got a few upgrades.
The Mr. Crunch is innovative. It has a lineup of good, useful tools that give it a different "personality", with a very unusual concept for the fold away pliers. Definitely worthy of the Garage Badge.
I absolutely LOVE that there is no logo or moniker on the Darkside. With any Leatherman, there is no need to advertise. I feel it only detracts from reputation.
I directly compare this to my Charge tti. It came with a nylon sheath and extra bits. With the Darkside's handsome design and price point at $250, I feel as if the tool should have come with a classier (maybe a black) Ainsworth sheath, or experimental driver bits, or something.
I don't think I'll ever use it as an EDC. Sadly, it will be, more or less a collectable.

Four stars for the glaring miss of a pocket clip, and for making it so any other official charge pocket clip fits too lose.
Читати повністю Very Unique Take on the Charge I really liked this release from the Garage. The tool itself was well done but there were two things that could be changed.
Pros
1. I loved the color way. The DLC is fantastic and the blue liners really pop.
2. The decision to use the handle tools like the NASA version was well done.
3. The functionality of the tools is perfect.
4. This tool would make an excellent EDC if it wasn’t a limited edition.
Cons
1. The finish on the liners was not good. In fact they look like there is a defect in the anodizing.
2. While I understand it was a limited run there simply weren’t enough initially available. The minimum number should have been 1,000.
Final thoughts. This configuration should be offered without the blue liners for around $200. I think it would be a very good seller within the EDC community. I’d certainly buy a couple.
Читати повністю need a pocket clip!!!! To start - I am not one of the people who is just flipping the tool on eBay. I have been a Leatherman customer for about 30 years and now have 5 tools, with the darkside. So far, it would have been my favorite, but the lack of a pocket clip kills it for me.
Also, somewhat surprised in the play in the tool. Not usually something found on other tools.
Читати повністю Disappointing compared to the first garage relase Just feels like a light ecstatically modified Wave+. There is nothing groundbreaking in it is function, like the the previous garage release. This one I would say is not worth the price tag. Just buy a Wave+ black and change the handles yourself.
I hope the next release is as innovative as the first was.

But it was very nice and well made and has nice features I wish my tti had like the scribe. The g10 scales are cool but felt the blue wasn’t really there.
Читати повністю Dark side review The dark side is put together with skill and everything works as it should. The final QA process failed on sharpening the main blade. It had not been sharpened. I corrected that and live the tool.
Читати повністю Casual carry At first glance, this looks like many of the regular tools available in black oxide, until you catch that pop of blue on the inside of the G10 handles.
While not a tool I intend to put to great use, this is my go-to after work carry. I love the ballpoint pen and while it’s not exceptionally comfortable to write with comes in quite handy at times. So while I don’t intend to scribe a novel with it, it’ll do just fine for signing a restaurant receipt when the waitstaff’s pen is at another table.
The little tweezers and carbide scribe are both items I’d love to have on a tool I could use at work where metal slivers frequently find their way into my fingers and I frequently am making marks on metal surfaces.
